The Borough of Eastleigh is set to welcome the England and Sri Lanka cricket teams together with thousands of cricket fans from across the country.
The Ageas Bowl’s 2016 international calendar gets under way when England face 2014 ICC T20 World Champions, Sri Lanka on Tuesday 5 July from 6.30pm in what's sure to be an action-packed NatWest IT20 match. The borough also welcomes the England and Pakistan women’s teams as the men's action will be preceded by England Women taking on Pakistan Women in a NatWest IT20 of their own from 2pm - so there's double the cricket to enjoy!
Council Leader Councillor Keith House says,”It’s great to welcome the players, officials, media and of course the fans to the borough to enjoy the prestigious and world class cricket venue that is the Ageas Bowl.”
He added, “I’m sure that local cricket fans together with the many thousands travelling from further afield will have a great time at the Ageas Bowl. It will also provide a major boost to the local economy and I hope that everyone will enjoy the experience and facilities offered by our borough.”

Advance road signs for the day-night matches will go up around the area and the Council will be carrying out plans for temporary coning of residential areas and traffic management arrangements for the match. Parking patrol officers will be undertaking additional local patrols as well. Road closures will be in place at the close of play to help pedestrians and vehicles leave the site.
