Glowsticks at the ready - Netley gets ready for Clubbercise!

Local people will soon be able to ‘turn off the lights, hand-out the glow sticks, then turn-up the volume and dance like no-one’s watching’ when a new ‘Clubbercise’ class is launched at Abbey Hall in Netley Abbey

Eastleigh Borough Council’s SportWorks team is launching the new fresh and fun dance fitness workout being led by a qualified instructor.

Cabinet Lead for Leisure Cllr Alan Broadhurst said, “Clubbercise offers a blend of simple easy to follow aerobic dance moves, offering high and low impact options aimed at all abilities.” He added, “What makes it so unique is that every class takes place with the main lights out, disco lights on, and all routines incorporate the trademark flashing glow sticks – so why not come along and a have a go at this fun alternative to traditional exercise.”

An initial block of 8 weekly sessions will start on Wednesday 25 January 2017 at Abbey Hall, running from 8.30pm-9:30pm, for anyone aged 16 and over at £4 pay as you go. Thanks to Sportivate funding these sessions will be available to those 16- 25 years half price for £2 pay as you go!

SportWorks are encouraging residents who feel more at home on the dancefloor than on a treadmill, to come together for a fitness experience with a difference.
