Walking and Wheeling Festival

17 August - 13 September

Walk. Wheel. Connect

We have partnered with Hampshire County Council to fund the Walk Wheel Cycle Trust, to provide an amazing programme of FREE routes to walk and wheel this summer/autumn!

The majority of bookings are now live...with more to come!

Ewwfest Prog Grid

View the digital programme and plan your summer of exploration and creativity! Local organisations, artists and volunteers are providing over 40 free led and self-led routes across the Borough to explore by foot, wheelchair and mobility aid. They cover a range of themes, lengths, locations and access needs - so there is a route to suit everyone!

Please ensure you read the information for each route before you book!

Spitfire Street to start and end the festival

Five friends. One day. A mystery 90 years in the making.

'Bookending' the festival is this free family-friendly promenade performance Monday 17 August and Sunday 13 September, with slots from 10am, brought to you by the team at The Point Eastleigh.

The First Flight Five have grown up together on Spitfire Street, in the very same houses where Spitfire factory workers once lived during WWII. But when their homes are threatened with demolition, they stumble upon an adventure that changes everything...

Spitfire Street Web

Join the First Flight Five as they decode wartime riddles, solve secret puzzles and outwit anyone who gets in their way. It's a race against time, a treasure hunt through history and one last epic adventure before everything changes forever.

For all ages, wheelchair and pushchair friendly.

Let's get out and about!

Local organisations and artists are providing led and self-led routes to explore by foot, wheelchair and mobility aid with a range of themes, lengths, locations and access needs.

We hope it inspires peoples' everyday journeys and connect them to their local area and green spaces as one of the simplest and most effective ways to boost health, as it:

  • improves health, supports weight management, a health heart, and helps regulate blood sugar
  • strengthens muscles and bones
  • reduces anxiety, lifts mood and connects people
  • improves sleep, helps regulate sleep patterns and promotes deeper rest.

...plus it's free, low-impact, and you can do it anywhere!

Explore the 2025 festival routes yourself

The programme team have set up all the festival routes on Komoot so residents can walk them again or walk ones they were unable to attend themselves. Time to explore Eastleigh Borough!

Walks available all year round

Prefer to do a route under your own steam at a time and location that suits you? Choose from a wide variety of local self-led routes.

People take part at their own risk and should check the route in advance, wear appropriate clothing for the weather and terrain and take food and drink as required.
