Summer 2020 Business Diversification Grant
Business Diversification Grant to help Borough based businesses
A summer business diversification grant is available for a limited number of eligible businesses in the Borough. The closing date for applications is 15 August and can be made by downloading the form and sending to our Economic Development Team.
Who can apply and for what?
This grant is intended as a contribution to a business, based in the Borough of Eastleigh, that shows entrepreneurial flair and flexibility. Admissible expenditure includes equipment and refurbishment costs.
How much are the awards?
Most awards are in the region of £500 though very exceptionally, at the discretion of the panel, higher awards may be made. Whilst the Council is keen to help businesses where real need can be proven, its grant fund is under considerable pressure and there is no guarantee that all applicants will be successful.
Payment procedure
Obtain approval for funding → make purchase → supply receipts and invoices to EBC → receive reimbursement
Payment will be made on production of receipts or direct to a supplier. We are unable to make payments in advance of purchases. The cost must not be incurred prior to the panel approving the application.
Are there any limitations?
- You can't use the grant for projects that are contra to the Council’s policies.
- You can't apply if you have received one of our business grants in the last three years.
- You can't apply if your business is registered and trading outside the Borough of Eastleigh.
- You can't apply if your business has over 10 employees.
- You can't claim for a cost incurred prior to the panel approving the application.
- You may be asked for a copy of your business plan
When will the grant be paid?
Deadline for applications is Saturday 15 August. All applications will be assessed by the grant panel within one week and you will be notified of their decision in writing. Payment will be made on production of receipts or we can pay your supplier direct.
Conditions of the grant
You will be contacted six months after the grant is awarded as a follow up and visited at your business premises. We may do a publicity piece on your business showing how the grant has helped your business.
We would like grant recipients to make use of our other business support services by signing up to our online support service Platform4, receiving our business newsletter and attending our annual business conference and other events.
