The latest plan for the transformation work taking place at Hiltingbury Lakes
The latest plan for the transformation work taking place at Hiltingbury Lakes, Chandler’s Ford is now available for people to view and gives an idea of what the improvements will look like once the work is complete.
Work will continue on the Hiltingbury Lakes project throughout January with the ongoing removal of invasive trees and plants and an aim to restore the woodland and wetland habitats back to their former glory.
A team of volunteers have been working at the site on a weekly basis, clearing the pathways and improving the area for the local community.
The next volunteer meeting is this Thursday, 16th January, new volunteers are invited to join the team and help with the improvement work. They can register on site the morning of the meeting and fill in an official volunteer registration form online.
The next stage of work will begin this month with an aim to improve the water system that forms a part of the Monks Brook main river. A plan will be developed in the next couple of months to enhance the main lake, ponds and river banks, and identify all locations where bank repairs are needed.
