Our fortnightly garden waste collection service will help you:
- Save petrol with fewer journeys to your local recycling centre
- Save time; simply fill up your green bin (with the brown lid) and place it out for collection on your collection day and we do the rest
- Avoid unwanted 'creepy crawlies' in your vehicle
What can you put in your garden waste bin?
- Grass cuttings
- Hedge and shrub clippings
- Cut flowers
- Leaves, twigs and bark
- Small plants and weeds
What you can’t put in your garden waste bin
- Food waste
- Animal waste
- Plastic bags, pots or trays
- Tree stumps
- Brick, rubble, soil and stones
- Large branches (over 10cm / 4” in diameter)
Annual service fees: (1 April 2019 to 31 March 2020)
First Bin: £38
(£30.50 for residents in receipt of Council Tax support or defined benefit)
Each additional bin: £35
(£24.50 for residents in receipt of Council Tax support or defined benefit)
Six monthly fees: (1 October 2019 to 31 March 2020)
First Bin: £29.50
(£25.50 for residents in receipt of Council Tax support or defined benefit)
Each additional bin: £27.50
(£24 for residents in receipt of Council Tax support or defined benefit)
SPECIAL OFFER - new customers who subscribe to the Garden waste service from April 2019 to March 2020 will receive free collections up until 1 April 2019 when the new collection year starts. (we will aim to deliver your bin within 10 working days)
How does the service work?
When you subscribe to the service you will receive a 240 litre wheeled bin and a welcome pack explaining how the service works and your collection dates for the year. You may purchase more than one bin (prices detailed below).
Your garden waste will be collected on a fortnightly basis, with the exception of the Christmas/New Year period.
Simply put your garden waste in your bin and leave it by the kerbside by 6.30am every fortnight, on your specified collection day.
If you move house within the Borough, please take your green wheeled bin with you and let us know your new address so we can continue collections from your new home.

Please ensure you return your direct debit form to us by post as we are unable to receive faxed or emailed copies.
If you choose to pay by Direct Debit you will receive a £2 discount for your first year of subscription (£1 if paying the October to March Price). This discount applies only to customers who have not previously paid for the service by Direct Debit. The Direct Debit discount only applies to those paying the full standard price in the first year of subscription by Direct Debit method of payment.
