Lost or damaged bins

What to do if your bin is missing, lost or damaged

Missing, lost or stolen bins

Please note that there is a £35 charge for the replacement of a lost or stolen household waste (black) bin.

If your bin is missing, lost or stolen, please wait 48 hours before reporting it, as bins very often turn up after being wheeled in by mistake by a neighbour. Please make sure you number your bin.

Please note: If, when we deliver the replacement black bin, we find a black bin already at the property, the replacement bin will not be delivered and you will need to apply for a refund. See our policy on additional bins.

Damaged bins

If your bin is damaged and you are unable to use it we will replace it for you.

Please note:

  • The delivery time for a replacement bin is up to 20 working days.
  • 240 litre black bins are no longer available and will be replaced with 180 litre bins.
  • If, when we deliver the bin, we find the bin to be in working order, it will not be replaced. See our policy on additional bins.
  • When the bin is replaced, the damaged bin will be removed. If there is no bin to remove, a replacement bin will not be left.
