Make sure you are registered to vote

Make sure you are registered to vote at next year’s elections - that’s the message to Borough residents from the Council.

To be able to vote at any election or referendum your name must appear on the register of electors and during August all households will receive information about residents who are currently registered at their property. Residents must check the information to ensure the details are correct.  The details can be quickly and easily updated by visiting www.householdresponse.com/eastleigh

The information is used to confirm residents at your address for voting and if you are applying for credit such as a mortgage or personal loan.  You can risk being refused credit if you do not appear on the register.

Remember that any new names added to the forms received during August does not register them to vote. This can be done at any time by going online www.gov.uk/register-to-vote and registering to vote.

Residents are urged to respond as soon as possible to avoid reminders being sent and the need for additional home visits to you - which is particularly important at the moment with the impact of Covid-19.

More information can be found on our Annual Canvass 2020 webpage

and if you have any further queries, please email elections@eastleigh.gov.uk
