Youth centre provision changes in the Borough from April

Youth provision in Eastleigh Borough - at the Energy Youth Centre in the town centre, and YZone Centres in Fair Oak, Fryern and Hiltingbury - will be temporarily suspended through April and into May as they transition to new management arrangements.

From Friday 29 April, Youth Options will take over youth services at Energy Youth Centre from the GroundWork team, who have provided an excellent service over the last ten years. Youth Options are a familiar presence in local youth outreach; they also run outdoor education projects in Bishopstoke and at the Borough Council-operated Itchen Valley Country Park. The Monday night Music Project, funded by the Council and Police & Crime Commissioner for Hampshire & Isle of Wight, and provided by the GroundWork South team, will continue throughout the changeover.

From 31 March, YZone services at their centres at Fair Oak, Hiltingbury and Chandler’s Ford, which are currently managed by the Borough Council, will also move over to Youth Options.

The organisations hope the young people in the Borough, who use these valued services, can bear with them as the new arrangements bed in and operations are reinstated as soon as possible.

YZone and Energy Youth Centre users can keep updated through their social media channels.
