Wildern Pool reopens
Wildern Pool in Hedge End will reopen on Monday 7 December following the completion of a major refurbishment.
Eastleigh Borough Council invested £1.2million into the project that included the completion of a new roof installed with eye catching coloured opaque cladding panels to provide natural lighting into the pool area. There is also a dedicated spectator seating area by the pool together with the replacement of the pool perimeter tiles.
Whilst the pool was closed this year, Wildern Academy Trust also took the opportunity to invest in a project to refurbish the changing rooms that ran alongside the major scheme.
Chair of Hedge End, West End & Botley Local Area Committee, Cllr Cynthia Garton said, “I’m absolutely thrilled that Wildern Pool is set to reopen. This is really great news that will provide a bit of cheer for local people after such a difficult year. I’m really looking forward to seeing this great new community facility safely welcoming our customers back next week.”
Wildern Academy Trust Executive Headteacher Marie-Lou Litton said, “The School and the Trust Board are so grateful for the support and financial support we’ve had for this exciting project. It’s a fantastic facility that will benefit not just our children but the wider community too.”
