  3. Town centre car park in Eastleigh set to close in October

Hanns Way car park will be closed permanently from 3 October

It is closing to make way for a housing development

16 September 2025

Hanns Way car park in Eastleigh’s town centre is due to be closed permanently from October 3.

It is closing to make way for a residential development which will consist of six apartments in a three-storey building with works expected to begin on October 6.

The building is due to be completed in early 2027.

Eastleigh Borough Council’s parking team will be putting up signs shortly so visitors and residents are given plenty of advance warning about the closure.

The nearest alternative off-street car parking facilities are in Wells Place or the Swan Centre (the same location, Wells Place is the ground floor undercroft, underneath the Swan Centre roof top car park) – both are operated by Eastleigh Borough Council (EBC).

On-street Pay & Display parking remains in High Street and Market Street, Eastleigh which is unaffected by this closure
