Eastleigh Borough residents are urged to get recycling during Recycle Week between 22 and 28 September as part of a nationwide celebration of recycling.
Recycle Week is the Recycle Now campaign's annual flagship event.
It's the one week of the year where retailers, brands, waste management companies, trade associations, governments and the media come together to achieve one goal: to galvanise the public into recycling more of the right things, more often.
Recycle Week is a time to focus on helping people realise that more of the things they’ve been wasting can be recycled after all. It’s easy to rescue things like cardboard and trigger sprays from the rubbish and recycle them instead.
Recycle Week is an annual event organized by the Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP) that brings together various stakeholders, including retailers, brands, and waste management companies, to promote recycling. The campaign's goal is to galvanize the public into recycling more of the right things, more often.
Individuals and organizations are encouraged to participate by:
Educating themselves about local recycling practices.
Implementing the "reduce, reuse, recycle" mantra in their daily lives.
Joining local recycling programs and initiatives.
Organizing community clean-up events.
Advocating for recycling in their workplaces and schools.
