The Unwrapped annual festival of fun is happening this weekend
Unwrapped kicks off a packed summer programme of events
The countdown is on to Eastleigh’s exciting Uwrapped festival of fun which is taking place this Saturday and Sunday (7 June and 8 June).
The Main festival on Saturday (7June ) at Leigh Road Recreation Ground and Greta Park in Hedge End on Sunday (8 June), will include performances from Jellyfish Theatre, The Fabularium, LAStheatre, Chris the Juggler, Luke Brown Company and Point classes & companies.
Expect an exciting array of theatre, fun and entertainment filled with engaging storytelling for families to make beautiful summer memories.
Squidge and Pop will be back with their brilliant bubble fun with immersive environments and music.
You can also meet Luke Brown Company's, Daniel (Walk of the Dandelion), an 8ft, ethereal puppet who gently roams, sharing moments of joy and quiet reflection. Daniel, a symbol of resilience and hope, will be gifting dandelions- each with a message of positivity.
There’s also a chill out zone where festival goers can take time out from all the activities taking place on the day.
The summer fun keeps on giving as Friday evenings from 27 June – 25 July are taken over by Summer Social and a host of live music in Eastleigh’s Leigh Road Rec. Featuring appearances from Point and audience favourites, “The Moonlighters”, “Still Moving DJs”, “Carley Varley”, “Ri Baroch” and more. The perfect summer evening to soak up the sun and great music with friends. Pimms, Prosecco and hot dogs also available from a pop-up kiosk!
In the Point and The Berry Theatre’s, audiences can grab even more live music fixes with perfect group outings, “Now I’m Here – The Real Queen Tribute” (Fri 13 June), “Disco for Grown-Ups" (Fri 13 June) and “Steampunk Orchestra” (Sat 14 June).
Comedy takes to the stage with “Mark Waston presents Fresh for the Fringe” (Sat 14 June & 5 July), where the gangly Taskmaster star himself has hand-picked his favourite performers before they premiere at Edinburgh Fringe.
“An Evening Without Kate Bush” (Thu 19 June), “BYOB - Bring Your Own Baby Comedy” (Wed 25 June & Tue 1 July), “Pat Cahill & Krystal Evans” (Sat 28 June) and “Luke McQueen & Rajiv Karia” are further exciting comedy highlights.
