What's on during the weekend
Head to The Point, Eastleigh for two full days of pro-planet ideas and people this month.
The Sustainability Hub Big Ideas Weekend will take place across the weekend of 17 and 18 September at The Point and will be a brilliant weekend of creative and community action.
During the weekend there will be a mix of pop-up performance, arts and crafts, talks, poetry, storytelling, exhibitions, workshops, and local business involvement from companies across the Borough that are already blazing an environmental trail.
The weekend’s headline performance is the premiere of Turning Point by all-female dance collective Feet Off the Ground. Luke Brown Dance will present Walk of the Dandelion, a walkabout by nine foot tall puppet Daniel, who is made from recycled materials. Blue Apple Theatre Company will share immersive film Forgotten People, Forgotten Planet, which focuses on the perspective of people with learning disabilities on climate change.
StoryTribe will be offering a special version of their popular storytelling sessions, and there will be informative talks about Climate Age and Creativity, Fair Oak & Horton Heath Greening Campaign and Sustainable Salon Practices.
Come along to Eastleigh's popular £5 Kilo Sale (in aid of CRY) and browse through hundreds of fantastic adult-sized items on the Sunday (18) from 11am - 3pm.
There will also be a selection of sustainable companies including; Yellow Interiors, Tukshop and Auditel, showcasing their actions and educating people on the ways that they have made their business and the Borough greener.
The event has been funded in part by the National Lottery’s Community Fund Together for Our Planet programme.
