Storm Ciaran - waste collections going ahead as normal
But residents asked to please bring in bins asap after emptying
Waste and recycling collections across Eastleigh Borough will go ahead as normal tomorrow (Thursday 2 November) - but residents are being urged to bring their bins back onto their property as as soon as posssible after they have been emptied.
Although Storm Ciaran is predicted to cause widespread disruption, the Council's Neighbourhood Services team aim to carry out their usual bin rounds to ensure that householders receive their normal scheduled service.
Residents are asked to put their bins out as normal according to their waste calendar - but to bring them back onto their property to as soon as they have been emptied to prevent them blowing into roads where they could cause an accident, or falling across pavements blocking them for pedestrians, wheelchair users and people pushing buggies. Food waste caddies and glass recycling crates are particularly prone to being blown away by strong gusts.
Some residents might want to bring in the bins of any neighbours who are away from their property at the time of collection.
