Stay in and work out

Encouraging people across the Borough to exercise at home

07 May 2020

Sport England have launched a nationwide campaign to #StayInWorkOut and we want people across the Borough to take part and share with us how they are staying active whilst at home.

The idea of Stay In Work Out is to see how individuals are adapting to exercising in their homes and to join the movement online by sharing their activity which could be lifting, jumping, dancing or stretching. The StayInWorkOut website includes a range of tips and guidance on keeping active at home.

We would also like to see people sharing how they are using their daily dose of exercise outside of the house – whether it’s a great new walk route that you’ve just discovered or a cycle path that gets you close to nature we’d like you to share them with us.

We have found that more people across the Borough are starting to participate in more exercise than they usually would, some are walking more, and others are challenging themselves by taking on the Couch to 5k.

We appreciate that being in a lockdown situation is not enjoyable but if you can share positive moments you’ve managed to find with others it might help someone else who is maybe struggling.

Share what you’ve been doing on SportHealthEBC (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) and using #StayInWorkOut.
