Residents asked about improvements to Eastleigh play area
Plans to transform the popular Lawn Road/St Catherine's Road attraction
Local residents are being consulted on plans to transform the Lawn Road/St Catherine's Road play area in the Boyatt Wood neighbourhood of Eastleigh, with a drop-in session this Thursday 7 November.
Eastleigh Borough Council manages the Lawn Road Play area and is keen to make some major improvements to create a more attractive destination for local children and their families. The area will benefit from £100,000 of improvements from the Eastleigh Local Area Committee, paid for by contributions from developers.
Residents local to the Lawn Road recreation ground and play area are invited to an exhibition at St Peter's Church, Shakespeare Road this Thursday 7 November, from 3pm to 7pm.
The exhibition will give an idea of what changes will be made and give people the opportunity to have their say on improvements and new features, which could be on a garden theme. Suggested elements that are up for discussion are rock terraces, new slides and a basketball hoop, as well as improvements to the wider park.
Chair of the Eastleigh Local Area Committee, Councillor Paul Bicknell, said: “The Lawn Road/St Catherine's Road park and play area in Boyatt Wood is a much-loved open space used by local families. It is due a makeover and we are keen to get the ideas of local people to create an attractive new destination with the look and feel of a garden.”
Residents with comments, can visit the exhibition, or send them to [email protected].
