Residential parking permits for Eastleigh residents
Parking permits for Eastleigh residents are currently renewing within the borough that are part of a new county wide Decriminalised (On-street) Parking Agency Agreement from Hampshire County Council (HCC) that applies to all the district councils including Eastleigh.
In March 2018 HCC announced that they would take back the control of on street parking across the whole of Hampshire. The new agreement includes changes to permit charges across Hampshire with the introduction of minimum £50 charges for all residential permits.
However, Eastleigh Borough Council was able to negotiate transitional arrangements with HCC to reduce the initial impact for Eastleigh residents. The cost of your first parking permit until the end of March 2021 is £30 instead of £50. Residents who have lived in Eastleigh since 2011, and have previously had a free permit, will now also have to pay £30 for their first permit upon its renewal.
Our new system – MiPermit – allows parking permit holders the opportunity to purchase and manage their parking and visitor permits online. These digital permits provide residents with a more time efficient and flexible way to manage, renew and pay online and purchase last minute visitor permits when required. As the permits are digital, they can no longer be lost or stolen which saves residents the cost and inconvenience of obtaining a replacement. They cannot fall from view either, so it avoids the risk of receiving a Penalty Charge Notice for failing to clearly displaying a permit.
Any paper parking permits continue to be valid in zones until they expire on the date printed on the permit.
