Progress at Flexford Nature Reserve

05 October 2022

Work is continuing at Flexford Nature Reserve to improve the area for local residents and visitors to the area. Improvement work to the pathways has already taken place around the reserve.

Pathways towards the North Millers Dale entrance and from the Charlecote Drive entrance have already been completed as the pictures (below) show how the work has enhanced the area already making it more accessible for everyone.

We have invested £75k awarded from the local developments ‘New Home Bonus’, to enhance this popular nature reserve with some essential maintenance work to the footpaths, bridges, and waterways to improve the pathways and making it more accessible to visitors.

In September we called on people to join us for a 'Volunteer Workparty' with tasks on the day including collecting brash from cleared trees to construct bank repairs to the Monks Brook.

Repairs to Monks Brook

The volunteers helped to install brash into the Monks Brook to construct repairs to the banks.
