In the last few days we have paid a total of £323,754 to 200 businesses in the Borough that have applied for financial support following a second period of closures for some businesses.

The Local Restrictions Support Grant (LRSG) scheme supports businesses that were open as usual, providing services in person to customers from their business premises, but were required to close due to lockdown restrictions imposed by the Government.

Cabinet Lead for the Economy Cllr Derek Pretty said: “During these difficult times we’re so pleased to again be able to help businesses in the Borough by ensuring they are getting all the support they can. Our staff have been working extremely hard to get these grants paid out as soon as they could. We’ve already paid out over £320,000 as part of the of Local Restrictions Support Grant to 200 businesses and I encourage all those businesses who have not yet applied, to do so, to ensure they get the money they are entitled to. These businesses contribute a great deal to our local economy and we want to see them continuing to trade successfully in the future.”

Applications are now open for businesses which have a business rates rateable value, if you think your business is eligible you can apply for a grant now.
