New play areas open at North Stoneham Park
Two new play areas that that provide challenging and adventurous fun for children were open in October in Avenue Park at North Stoneham Park, Eastleigh.
A ‘Natural Play Space’ designed for children from 7 to 12 years of age provides a play space that feels part of the local landscape and compliments the natural features and structure of the area. There is also a ‘Toddler Play Space’ for younger children aged between 3 to 7 years that includes equipment for them to enjoy spinning, swinging, rocking, climbing and balancing opportunities. The aim is for both play spaces is to become a focal point for the local community to stay, play and meet friends.
Both play areas were funded by the developer as part of the community benefits for the area and have used Robinia timber throughout to give a strong, natural structure in keeping with the natural landscape of the development.
Mayor of Eastleigh Cllr Darshan Mann said, “We are really pleased to invest in these great new play facilities for this area. This new play equipment will, for the first time, provide local children in the area with the chance to enjoy a range of play equipment in a safe environment which also encourages them to keep active.”
