New play area opens at Hatch Farm, West End
Local children can now enjoy a new play area that has been installed and has today been opened at Hatch Farm, West End.
The new play area that provides a safe, fun and challenging experience is aimed at children up to 12 years of age. It centres around a multiactivity unit that includes a tunnel slide together with a caterpillar and snail spring riders, a buddy board and a disability accessible roundabout. There is also a low level timber trail around the play area.
The play area also includes safety surfacing around and under each bit of equipment. It has been funded from financial contributions from the developers of The Willows housing scheme and was installed by Vita Play Limited who are a local company based in Winchester.
Chair of Hedge End West End & Botley Local Area Committee Cllr Cynthia Garton said, “We are really pleased to invest in these new play facilities for this area. This new play equipment will, for the first time, provide local children in the area with the chance to enjoy a range of play equipment in a safe environment which also encourages them to keep active.”
The play area has been supported by West End Parish Council and Hatch Farm Working Group which includes Parish and Borough councillors together with representatives from the Barnsland Residents’ Association.
