New play area for Leah Gardens, Eastleigh
Local children are enjoying a new play area that has been installed at Leah Gardens on Woodside venue.
The new play area, that was installed at the end of last year, allows a safe, fun and challenging for children of all ages. It centres around a multi-activity unit and also includes a combi swing, springer horse and an accessible roundabout that can take a wheelchair.
The play area also includes ‘Rhyno Mulch’ safety surfacing that is manufactured from recycled lorry tyres and adds colour to the area. Leah Gardens play area cost around £72,000 that was funded from financial contributions from the developers of the housing scheme. It was installed by Vita Play Limited who are a local company based in Winchester.
Chair of Eastleigh Local Area Committee Cllr Paul Bicknell said, “We are pleased to invest in new facilities for this area. This new play equipment will, for the first time, provide local children in the area to enjoy a range of play equipment in a safe environment which also encourages them to keep active.”
