Walkers, cyclists and dog owners will soon be able to take advantage of glorious walks at Stoke Park Farm Suitable Alternative Natural Greenspace (SANG).
A 2.49km network of footpaths made up of self-binding gravel pathways look set to be opened to the public this summer – thanks to work agreed by Eastleigh Borough Council.
The paths converge at a focal point drawing visitors to a space with seating, trees and picnic benches to enjoy the landscape (trees are being planted in autumn).
The works are being carried out by White Horse Contractors, on behalf of the Council.
Pedestrian access to the SANG will be via public rights of way and bridleways to any of the 5 entrance points to site.
From Stoke Common Cemetery Car Park access to the area is through Stoke Park woods Public Rights of Way or along the public bridleway at the entrance to Sewall Drive.
Pedestrian entrances can also be accessed from Hardings Lane, Savernake Way, the rear of the Fox and Hounds Pub and the adjoining Upperbarn Copse and Crowdhill Copse.
