New Chalcroft Way link road opens
Work has been completed on an important new link road that will help to relieve traffic pressure at Fair Oak and Horton Heath.
The new Chalcroft Way link road connects Bubb Lane with Burnetts Lane, just north of the Hedge End to Eastleigh railway line, and has included the construction of two new roundabouts at either end of the link road.
Council Leader Cllr Keith House said, “It’s great to see this vitally significant scheme for Horton Heath completed. This project is further evidence of the Council’s ‘Infrastructure First’ approach. This is the first phase of infrastructure for the new community at Horton Heath and we are ensuring this vital new road infrastructure is in place first to help take traffic away from rural Burnetts Lane and remove some through traffic in both Fair Oak and Horton Heath.”
Simon French, Managing Director of Mildren Construction said, “Mildren Construction are delighted to have delivered these infrastructure works at One Horton Heath on behalf of Eastleigh Borough Council, helping to further deliver new and improved connectivity across the region”
Currently the new link road only provides access to Chalcroft Business Park.
