New 2D play map offers fun for all in Market Place
A giant illustrated playground has put play firmly on the map in the heart of Eastleigh town centre.
A brand-new larger than life 2D Wriggle and Scribble play map has been installed at Market Place near the Leigh Road Recreation Ground, where it can be enjoyed free of charge by children, adults and everyone in between for the next three months.
The map has been created by A Line Art and its installation has been supported by the Welcome Back Fund which is part of an ongoing campaign to encourage people back into their local retail centres to shop and visit hospitality venues and other facilities.
Pop along to move, shake, scribble, shuffle, hop, bop, dance, star jump and wriggle your way around the course.
Cabinet Lead for Economy Councillor Derek Pretty said: “This is a fantastic free activity for families in the Borough to enjoy when visiting the town centre. The Welcome Back Fund has allowed us to do some fantastic things around the town to encourage people back onto the high street.”
Founder of A Line Art artist Anna Bruder said: “We’ve all had a tough few years and the Wriggle and Scribble playground is a celebration of Eastleigh and an invitation for the community to share a moment of creative connection. The map is very special, very colourful and extremely playful!”
