National Lockdown - a guide to Council services
Council offices are closed - most services will continue with some changes
Following advice from the Government to enter a period of lockdown Eastleigh Borough Council continues to take action to help protect the health and wellbeing of its residents, businesses and staff. All services, where safe to do so will continue to run.
Given the latest Government advice our services, facilities and meetings are as follows:
- The Council’s Eastleigh House offices will remain closed, however, we can be contacted by phone and there is lots of information on our website
- All waste and recycling collections are continuing as normal including our food waste recycling service
- Anyone becoming homeless during the lockdown and needing housing assistance in an emergency, should contact our freephone number on 0800 032 0540 during office opening hours (8.30am to 5pm) to speak to a member of the Housing Case Management Team
- The Local Response Centre remains open for those who need help and support during this time
- Council meetings will continue online
- Council services where employees carry out home or business premises visits will be restricted during this lockdown and alternative options will be discussed where necessary
- Children’s play areas remain open
- Itchen Valley Country Park and toilets will remain open - the Woodland Café will continue to provide a takeaway service only, however this will be a reduced menu
- Lakeside Country Park and toilets remain open
- Our MOT service at the Hedge End Depot remains open
- Animal Welfare inspections where there is a welfare issue will continue following Covid-19 secure guidance
However, in line with Government advice the following services/facilities will close for the duration of the lockdown:
- The Point, Eastleigh and The Berry Theatre in Hedge End
- Places Leisure Eastleigh, including HealthWorks services
- Mercury Centre, Hamble; Y- Zone, Bishopstoke; The Hub & Rugby Club, Eastleigh
The safety, health and wellbeing of our residents, businesses, staff and visitors is the Council’s number one priority. We urge everyone to take appropriate action to keep themselves safe and healthy and follow the advice of government and the NHS.
