Over 80 residents across Eastleigh Borough have already opened their homes to host nearly 200 Ukrainians fleeing the devastating war in their country As some of the initial six months hosting arrangements come to an end, Mayor of Eastleigh Cllr Adam Manning is supporting an appeal for more hosts across the Borough to help Ukrainian refugees in need.

Residents are encouraged to come forward if they can provide rent-free lodging for a minimum of six months, whether that be a spare room or any other type of accommodation.

Each host receives a thankyou payment of £350 per month from the Government and from October until the end of February, Hampshire County Council are making an additional payment of £200 per month.

Mayor of Eastleigh Cllr Adam Manning said, “If you can offer some accommodation to a Ukrainian family in need, please get in contact with the Ukraine support team at the Council by emailing ukrainewelcome@eastleigh.gov.uk.”
