Low Carbon Solent project launch
Greentech South along with Portsmouth University and Winchester University launch the Low Carbon Solent project.
At 10:30am on Wednesday 22 July 2020 the Low Carbon Solent project will launch the ERDF funded Low Carbon Solent project. The project is being led by the University of Portsmouth, in collaboration with Greentech South and the University of Winchester.
Greentech South (GTS) is the UK's first ESCA accredited Cleantech Network for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Since 2014, GTS has been helping SMEs transform their innovative ideas to tackle climate change into commercialised products and services, stimulating sustainable economic growth and creating job opportunities in the green economy.
They work with higher education institutions, large businesses and public bodies to support collaboration on innovation and research in the Solent region.
The project aims to accelerate the creation, commercialisation and uptake of low carbon technologies in the Solent region and beyond and advance the development of a sustainable, low carbon economy.
It will deliver a programme of innovation support and grant funding to SMEs to support research and innovation in low carbon technologies and solutions and promote their adoption. It will also host challenge-led events and facilitate access to postgraduate student projects.
Through this project SMEs can access:
- Innovation Grants and Business Support
- Access to Postgraduate Student Projects
- Innovation and networking events and engagement with local institutions
