Inspiring minds and supporting mental health through the arts
The Point, Eastleigh, to hold courses to support mental health.
The Point, Eastleigh, will be hosting two 12 week courses to help support mental health through the arts, with a street dance course and a course on creative sewing.
These sessions are designed to build confidence in people who are struggling with their mental health by encouraging and inspiring them to focus on their creativity.
One stitch at a time is a relaxed course in creative stitching that introduces participants to the therapeutic art of sewing. Each week is progressive and will help people to complete a personal project. The course begins on Tuesday 10 March for 12 weeks.
Street dance is a specially adapted course to help energise and motivate people, by the end of the 12 weeks those enrolled will have the confidence and ability to dance a whole routine.
Many people find that physical activity helps them to maintain positive mental health and being active can help a person feel better about themselves and reduce the risk of depression.
Street Dance begins Friday 13 March.
Both courses cost £5.00 per session and are only suitable for people aged 18 and over. Buddies are welcome on both courses.
