Improvement works at Fleming Paddling Pool and Play Area

17 January 2025
Paddling Pool

Improvement works are under way at the Fleming Park paddling pool and play area.

The area will benefit from £169,000 of improvements from the Eastleigh Local Area Committee, paid for by contributions from developers.

The project will improve the setting for the paddling pool, create new natural play areas, and soften the existing, hard urban character of the play area. The works include creating new earth mounds, landscaping works and planting, a new starter skate track, an improved basketball court, new public artist design shading and new embankment slide.

The first phase includes the new earth mounds, with delivery vehicles visiting site and diggers shaping the mounds over a period of up to two weeks. Other smaller scale works will then follow, and we aim to conclude the works by May 2025 in time for the paddling pool summer opening.

The second phase will start when the pool closes after the summer, with the installation of the shading and embankment slide. This gap in works is needed to allow the earth mounds to settle.
