Improvement work at Flexford Nature Reserve
Work is due to take place at Flexford Nature Reserve over the coming weeks to improve and repair the pathways around the site.
We are investing £75k awarded to them from the local developments ‘New Home Bonus’, to enhance this popular nature reserve with some essential maintenance work to the footpaths, bridges, and waterways.
We'll be working in partnership with the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust, to reinstate and improve footpath surfaces throughout the site to ensure the area is safe and accessible for local people to enjoy in the future. There will also be new interpretation and Information panels together with improvements to signage with information about the history of the site including the animals and plants that can be found there.
The work taking place will also increase biodiversity of the area and save hundreds of trees with exposed roots, protect and improve riverbanks and ultimately lead to a more sustainable green area.
