Household Support Fund replaced by Crisis and Resilience Fund
The Government has launched the Crisis and Resilience Fund (CRF) to support low income households in Hampshire who are experiencing a financial shock or are at risk of crisis, replacing the previous Household Support Fund. It provides needs based help with essentials such as food, energy, housing costs and essential transport, and also invests in community organisations offering financial advice and digital support.
Support is focused on four areas:
- Crisis payments for urgent financial needs
- Housing support, delivered by district and borough councils
- Financial resilience services to help residents budget and avoid future crises
- Community funding to strengthen local support networks.
Applicants must:
- Live full time in Hampshire (excluding Southampton, Portsmouth, Isle of Wight)
- Be facing financial hardship or an immediate essential need
- Have low income or be in receipt of a means tested benefit
- Show they lack resources to resolve the crisis without hardship or debt
- Have savings below £6,000.
How to Apply
Residents apply via their local Citizens Advice service. If eligible, support may be provided through cash out vouchers (Post Office or PayPoint) or other forms of assistance.
Housing Costs
Exceptional housing related support is available through district and borough councils where other schemes do not meet need.
