Help protect Eastleigh's parks and green spaces during hot, dry weather
Residents are being urged to take extra care while enjoying Eastleigh Borough's parks and open spaces as the current hot, dry and windy weather has significantly increased the risk of wildfires. Even a small spark can quickly spread in dry grass and vegetation, putting wildlife, habitats and public spaces at risk.
To help keep everyone safe, please avoid using disposable barbecues, do not light campfires or fires on the ground, ensure cigarettes are fully extinguished and disposed of responsibly, and take all litter home with you. By taking these simple precautions, everyone can help protect the borough's green spaces during the current conditions.
If you see a fire in a park, open space or countryside area, please move away from the area and call 999 immediately. Do not attempt to tackle the fire yourself, as fires can spread quickly in dry conditions and may become dangerous without warning.
