Local people will be able to enjoy walking along a 450 metre length of the popular Hamble rail trail that has been resurfaced.
The old surface of the rail trail between Tudor Close spur to Baron Road/Spitfire way has been cleared and 450m x 2m wide of new self-binding gravel installed and levelled off to provide a more stable surface. Overgrowing vegetation has also been removed.
Chair of Bursledon, Hamble & Hound Local Area Committee Cllr Tonia Craig said, “We were delighted to fund these works that improves this popular route along the rail trail. The new improved surface links the rail trail route from Hamble Lane to Spitfire Way around the edge of the airfield.”
