Full road closure on The Avenue, Horton Heath - Wednesday 26 November
Council carrying out essential safety checks
Eastleigh Borough Council will be carrying out essential safety checks on The Avenue, Horton Heath later this week. To complete this work safely, the road will be fully closed on Wednesday 26 November, from 9.30am to 4pm, between Allington Lane Roundabout and Chalcroft Way Roundabout.
These checks help ensure the road surface and road markings continue to meet national safety standards. Some of the equipment needs to operate in the centre of the road, so it has to be fully closed for a short period to keep staff and road users safe. This type of testing is routine for new roads and will be carried out regularly before the road is adopted by the Highway Authority.
The footway will remain open for pedestrians and cyclists, but no vehicle access will be possible while the work takes place.
The programme is weather-dependent and may need to change if conditions are poor.
