Fleming Park paddling pool play area part closed for facility revamp
To allow preparatory works to take place for the new public art piece at the paddling pool, a section of the adjacent play area was fenced off for safety and access. The majority of the play area was still be available for local families.
The practical art pieces will replace the old ‘umbrella’ shades. Inspired by plant cells, and using sustainable materials, the new structures will provide more shade in conjunction with the new trees.
In addition, upgraded benches will be installed shortly after.
UPDATE:
The paddling pool is due to reopen as usual from 23 May, 10am, with the art pieces to follow in early June and the benches later that month with minimum interruption from paddlers!
