Fleming Park paddling pool area closed for final upgrades to take place
To allow the final installation of new benches, picnic tables and bespoke shade structures, the paddling pool and a section of the adjacent play area will be fenced off for safety and access on Tuesday 7 July, for one day only. The majority of the play area will still be available for local families.
The practical public art piece funded by developer contributions, has already begun installation and replaces the old ‘umbrella’ shades, which had reached end of life. Inspired by plant cells, and using sustainable materials, the new structures provide more shade in conjunction with new trees. They cleverly track the sun creating safe shade for pool-goers.
The benches and picnic tables, funded by Eastleigh Local Area Committee, will be installed on the same day.
We can’t wait for the paddling pool to reopen the following day, with all the upgrades ready for your enjoyment this summer.
