First full size artificial 3G pitch for Hedge End
....and a new community open space.
Local people will benefit from the provision of new sports pitches in Hedge End including the area’s first full size floodlit 3G football pitch following the decision by Hedge End West End & Botley (HEWEB) Local Area Committee to grant planning permission for the exciting new local facilities.
The new full size floodlit 3G artificial football pitch is part of the new Deer Park school off Woodhouse Lane and will be available for the wider community to use. The committee also approved the provision of three grassed pitches on a new community open space to the east of Berrywood Primary school. The new open space will also include new footpaths, landscaping and enhanced biodiversity.
Chair of HEWEB Local Area Committee, Cllr Cynthia Garton said, “I’m delighted that we approved this scheme that provides the area’s first full-size floodlit 3G artificial pitch together with a new open space for the local community to use. The provision of these much-needed local community sports facilities will provide opportunities for local people to be more active, improve their physical and mental wellbeing as well as encouraging greater social interaction.”
