Eastleigh is gearing up for a summer packed with activity as the Eastleigh Active programme opens for summer 2026, offering an exciting range of sports and activities for children and young people aged 5–16 from Monday 27 July to Friday 21 August.
Designed to encourage young people to get active, try new experiences and connect with others in their community, this year's programme is bigger and more diverse than ever, with activities to suit all interests, abilities and experience levels.
Participants can choose from a wide variety of activities throughout the summer, including circus skills, gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics and dance, rounders, rugby, Reformer Pilates, pickleball, AquaRun, badminton, CrossFit, fishing, Olympic weightlifting, pool inflatable sessions, street basketball, cricket, sailing, tennis, netball, football, dodgeball, laser tag, cycling, scooter and skateboard workshops, junior gym sessions and free swimming.
Cllr Tonia Craig: “Eastleigh Active is a fantastic opportunity for young people to stay active, try something new and make the most of their summer holidays. With such a wide range of activities on offer, participants can build confidence, develop new skills, and discover interests they may never have considered before, all in a fun, welcoming, and supportive environment”.
Whether they're discovering a new hobby, developing existing skills or simply looking for a fun way to stay active during the school holidays, Eastleigh Active provides young people with the opportunity to learn new skills, build confidence and make lasting memories in a safe and supportive environment.
The Local Area Committees and Town and Parish Councils have provided additional funding so that paid for activities can be kept to £3.50 per session. Eligible residents in receipt of Housing Benefit or Council Tax can apply for a discount code and book activities for just £1 per session.
Bookings for the Eastleigh Active summer programme open week commencing Monday 29 June.
Places are expected to be popular, and residents are encouraged to book early to avoid disappointment.
