Delays to bin collections

Due to a technical issue at the waste transfer station in Otterbourne, our crews are having to wait longer than usual to tip their waste. This is having a knock-on effect on our ability to complete our collection rounds on time, and as such it is likely to result in delays to some waste collections.

If your street's bins have not been collected on the scheduled collection day, please leave your bin at the kerbside and our crews will get to it as soon as they are able to. Our crews will be working additional hours to help deal with the backlog of collections resulting from this issue.

Please note, this delay is unrelated to the changeover of bin collection dates that took place at the beginning of the month and it is also impacting other waste collection authorities that use the same waste transfer station.

Apologies for the inconvenience this has caused and thank you for your patience while we work to manage the situation as best we can.
