Council’s Employment and Skills Manager offers advice to interns
Employment and Skills Manager for Eastleigh Borough Council offered supported interns at Eastleigh College advice in a recent online presentation.
Lea Hampton, Employment and Skills Manager for the One Horton Heath project within the Council, is working to raise awareness of where there are skills shortages in the area and to encourage the development of skills.
She was invited to speak to newly appointed supported interns at Eastleigh College and delivered an interactive presentation to a group of over 30. Lea has been appointed by the Council as part of the One Horton Heath project which is an innovative and exciting new development and will focus its approach on people, place making and large-scale environmental improvement.
Part of her role with the Council is to support both young people and adults in careers on their journeys, by providing labour market information, training and other learning opportunities, and knowledge of where the local job needs are likely to be in the she short and medium term.
