Eastleigh Borough Council Leader Cllr Keith House has written to all ten parish and town councils in the Borough to offer financial help, support and reassurances as a result of financial pressures arising from the COVID-19 crisis.

The Council Leader has assured all of the parish and town councils that the Borough Council will continue to pay precepts and grants to them as originally budgeted. As each parish or town council will be facing unique pressures the Borough Council will work with each one  to find a tailored solution as to the best way it can lend support.

Council Leader Keith House said, “Our parish and town councils are, like ourselves and many others, providing a vital role in supporting our local communities at this time when people need it most.  We can assure all of them that we will be there to help them so that they can continue their vital work as we all work to support our Borough through this time of crisis in as many ways as possible.”

He added, “We also hope that Hampshire County Council will match fund our support for our parish and town councils, as requested by the Secretary of State.”
