Hedge End West End & Botley Local Area Committee approved an application that gives the green light for a new Lidl store at Hedge End.

Approval was given to an application to extend and make external alterations to the old Homebase store at Hedge End Retail Park.  It is proposed that the old store will made into two retail units on the existing site with alterations to the car park layout and a change to the permitted range of goods that can be sold. One of the stores will now be occupied by Lidl.

Cabinet Lead for Economy Cllr Derek Pretty said, “I am sure that Lidl will be a welcome addition to the retail offering for shoppers visiting Hedge End and it’s great to see another national retailer choosing to site their business in our borough.   The new store at Hedge End will provide jobs for local people and further contributes to the economic prosperity of the area.”
