Correction – error in percentages on your recent council tax bill
On the most recent annual council tax bill that went out to residents, there were was an error in the percentage changes from the previous year for some of the other organisations that your council tax payment goes to (known as precepting bodies). This was an error caused by our systems and not by the precepting bodies themselves.
Please note the actual charges included on the bill were correct. Therefore, no action is required from residents.
Please see below for corrections:
Precepting body | Misstated percentage change | Corrected percentage change |
Hampshire County Council Adult Social Care* | 3.0% | 1.0% |
Hampshire Police and Crime Commissioner | 7.0% | 4.4% |
Hants & IOW Fire & Rescue | 2.0% | 7.1% |
*Please note the 1% increase on Adult Social Care is based on 1% of the overall Hampshire County Council combined charge.
We apologise for any confusion that this may have caused and offer assurances that all sums being charged are in line with the sums approved by the relevant precepting body.
