Contactless payment option in car parks
Visitors using the Mitchell Road multi storey car park and the Swan Centre roof top car park can now use a contactless payment facility when paying for their parking.
All four machines in the Mitchell Road multi-storey car park and two of the seven machines on the roof top car park of the Swan centre can now take contactless payments. The remaining machines will be updated in due course. This means that car park users can pay more quickly and easier using their card or smart phone when they pay at the end of their stay at the Pay on Foot sites.
The machines will continue to accept coins and the current/new £5/£10/£20 notes and Chip & Pin.
Cabinet Lead for Transport Cllr David Airey said, “We are committed to investing in new technology to provide an improved and more efficient service for our customers. These contactless payment facilities will make it easier and quicker for visitors who want to use their digital technology.”
