Christmas countdown starts this weekend!
Lights switch-on in Eastleigh town centre - Saturday 19 November
The annual Christmas light switch-on event in Eastleigh town centre takes place this weekend and promises to be a festive treat for all the family.
On Saturday 19 November the town centre will become a hive of Christmas activities starting at 11am and running until 7pm.
The activities taking place around the town centre will include;
Community food stalls - Leigh Road precinct - (from 11am to 7pm)
Community market - stalls on Market Street and High Street (from 11am to 4pm)
Market – a selection of stalls (11am to 7pm) on the Leigh Road precinct.
Fair rides – a selection of children's and family rides provided by Stevens Funfair. These will be in the car park adjacent to Leo Leisure.
Only a few places are left for Santa's Grotto at The Point, Eastleigh and Santa will be there to welcome children on Saturday and Sunday this year. There will be a great festive atmosphere at the venue with drinks and food served from the kiosk throughout the day.
Stilt-walkers- will be walking around the town centre from 11am to 4pm.
Mobile Christmas Farm- situated in Wells Place from 11am -3.30pm
Performers/buskers area - Wells Place from 11am -5pm
The lights will be switched on by the Mayor of Eastleigh, Councillor Adam Manning and Santa himself at 6pm followed by a firework display.
