Chancellor Park play area opens

Local children can now enjoy a new play area that has been installed and is now open at Chancellor Park, Boorley Park.

The new play area that provides a safe, fun and challenging experience is aimed at children from 5 years of age.  The unique play area is based on a roundcourse design for climbing that enables children to go from different bits of equipment without touching the ground.

The course includes a rope swing, net traverse, hammock swing, rope climb and crow’s nest viewing area together with a rotating rope spinner.

The play area also includes safety surfacing around the equipment. It has been funded from financial contributions from the developers of nearby new housing schemes and was installed by Russell Play.   It is constructed from stainless steel, powder coated aluminium and steel core ropes.

Chair of Hedge End, West End & Botley Local Area Committee Cllr Cynthia Garton said, “We are really pleased to invest in these great new play facilities for Boorley Park. This new play area will provide local children with the chance to enjoy this play equipment in a safe environment and also encourage them to have fun and keep active.”

Chancellor Park play area is located off St Andrews Road, Boorley Park.
