Businesses in the Borough can still trial a free RIDES e-cargo bike
Businesses can make urban deliveries greener with a RIDES e-cargo bike
The RIDES scheme, launched by Southampton City Council and Eastleigh Borough Council, offers a fleet of 10 e-cargo bikes on loan to local organisations. You get to see how making deliveries with an e-cargo bike, instead of with a car or van, can be a practical and greener solution.
RIDES (Realising Innovative Deliveries in Eastleigh and Southampton) is offering businesses and educational, charitable, community and voluntary sector organisations the opportunity to participate in the trial for just a week or anything up to 3 months. Since the scheme started in March 21, they have transported around 15 tonnes of goods and travelled over 2,500 miles for local companies, delivering everything from print materials, foods, liquids, food parcels, maintenance equipment and materials to tools and office equipment.
If your organisation is interested in trialling an e-cargo bike for short distance deliveries, visit RIDES | My Journey Southampton for more information, or contact the RIDES Project Manager – Stuart Williams at [email protected]
