The following guide should provide a useful update on the status of grant schemes launched to support businesses impacted by the coronavirus pandemic:

Small Business Grant – we are still accepting applications from businesses in receipt of Small Business Rate Relief at 11 March 2020. Please complete the online form and/or contact [email protected] if you have not yet applied and believe your business may be eligible. We have now paid out £16,230,000 in business grants to 1,228 companies across the Borough. Find out more

If you are not eligible for this grant the government have launched a Bounce Back Loan scheme which businesses can now apply for.

Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grant – we are still accepting applications from business ratepayers with a  rateable value below £51,000 in the retail, hospitality or leisure sectors. Please complete the online form and/or contact [email protected] if you have not yet applied and believe your business may be eligible.

Discretionary grant – for non-ratepayers and other businesses that were ineligible for the Small Business Grants and Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grant. This application period is now closed and assessments are under way. Businesses should hear from the Economic Development team next week and payments will be made by the end of the month.
